A popular, medium-sized flowering tree with stunning red flowers, widely distributed. It is also known as tiger’s claw, is a plant species of the family Fabaceae. The plant’s synonyms include Erythrina indica, Erythrina variegata.  It is a popular ornamental tree owing to its decorative effects to areas in need of beautification. USES it is used for green fodder, medicinal, green manure, ornamental, food & shade purpose. 

GREEN FODDER: Having high protein and fiber content that makes it an excellent feed to cattles. 

MEDICINAL : Bark and leaf powder is used to aid digestion, rid of intestinal worms, blood purification, to regulate menstruation (periods), cholesterol imbalance, fever, antiseptic, skin problems,etc., 

GREEN MANURE: Leaves Nitrogen fixing particularly useful for soil enrichment, helps poor soil increase the fertility, good source of organic matter, quickly decomposes & provide nutrients to plants.

 FOOD : Young, tender leaves & young sprouts are eaten as a vegetable.

HOW TO GROW: 

Soak your seeds in water for 24 hours prior to planting. Sow seeds very lightly, only about ¼ inch below the surface of the soil and about 3 inches apart and moisten carefully with a spray bottle. Keep the soil moist and warm until the seeds germinate about 30 days later. Place them on top of a radiator or refrigerator if possible to help keep them warm. Move to indirect sunlight once they sprout and transplant the healthiest seedlings outside or to larger growing pots when they are 4 to 6 inches high. PLANTING: Mix compost and sand to soil before planting. Make hole in soil and plant the seedlings or plants at the same depth as it was grown in previous pot. Pack the soil firmly around the base of plant to hold it in the right position and water thoroughly. If planting in pots, use a pot that is large enough as black pepper plants have extensive root system.
